WinSpace

Privacy

WinSpace looks at your drives for you, on your PC. Five promises:

  1. It reads names, sizes and dates.

Never what is in a file, apart from a cache tag's first line.

  2. Everything stays on your PC.

Nothing about your files is uploaded.

  3. It sends two things.

An update check, and anonymous counts you can switch off: rough sizes, scan times, the version. Never a path, a name or the size of anything on your drives.

  4. Admin once, with your OK.

It sets up the full-scan helper, which only reads. Any program running as you could then ask it for file names and sizes; turning full scans off removes it.

  5. Nothing is deleted without asking.

Cleaning moves things to the Recycle Bin. Only Empty these now deletes, and it asks first.
