WinPulse

Privacy

WinPulse is built to know about your PC, not about you.

What stays on your PC

Everything WinPulse measures: the apps you run, how much each one uses, and your history. None of it leaves your PC, and Delete History in Settings clears it whenever you like. WinPulse sees how much an app uses, never what's inside your files, windows or web pages.

What WinPulse sends

An update check every 6 hours. Every 6 hours, WinPulse asks our server whether there is a new version, and downloads it from there if there is. Like any web request, this shows your IP address to Cloudflare, which runs the server. We don't keep it: we only count how many checks and downloads arrive each day.

A connection check while a window is open. While the mini window or the full window is open, WinPulse pings your router and 1.1.1.1, Cloudflare's public address, every 2 seconds to show how your connection is doing. A ping holds nothing about you or your PC, and the results stay on your PC. Like the update check, it shows your IP address to Cloudflare.

An anonymous usage and error report. Once a day, a small report helps us fix crashes and keep WinPulse light. It's on to start with, and one switch in Settings, About turns it off.

It holds your WinPulse and Windows versions, roughly when you installed it, and rough PC details such as memory size, screen scaling, graphics brand and laptop or desktop. It also counts the memory and CPU WinPulse used, how often its windows and tabs were opened, your theme, the alerts it showed and what you did with them, whether updates installed, and where in WinPulse a crash happened.

It never includes app names, file names, window titles or your name. Each report carries a random number made on your PC, so we can count PCs; it isn't tied to you or your hardware. We keep reports, with only their date, for about a year.
